Pharmacy and Medicine

According to the Nebraska Pharmacists Association's website, in response to recent concerns about traces of pharmaceutical and personal care products found in drinking water across the United States, the Nebraska Pharmacists Association has partnered with the Groundwater Foundation, the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality, the Nebraska Board of Pharmacy, and the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department to create the Nebraska MEDS (Medication Education on Disposal Strategies) Program. The focus of Nebraska MEDS program is to educate patients about proper disposal of prescription and over-the-counter medications.

The help bring awareness to this program, the Omaha Public Library displayed the Nebrasda MEDS brochure along with the Federal Guidelines for Proper Disposal brochure. We called the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy. Charles H. Krobot, Pharm.D., R.P. was amazing. He loaned us some wonderful vintage pharmacy supplies and he even went above and beyond by bringing it over himself and setting up the display. As you can see by the pictures below, he did a wonderful job!
